Months of dry weather in North Dakota had many praying for rain, but for Betsy and Taylor, dreams of a backyard wedding in the Summer sunshine was their hope. Rain poured in the weekend of their wedding, but their joy permeated the feeling of every doubt. They were getting married and that was their greatest joy that weekend. So we headed out in the misty early morning on their wedding day for a coffee and a chai tea and time to settle in and write their vows together. The idea of starting your wedding day together goes against many grains but for them, it made sense. It calmed and grounded them. Rain or shine, it would be the best day ever.
Betsy was able to put on her Jenny Yoo gown in her childhood home with all of her siblings and neices and nephews and the sunshine surprised us. They ended the celebration with a little evening dancing under the midsummer dusk sky with sparklers and rain.
